Default so um....about that money issue with skills

(inspired by Kool Pajamas)

Ok when i first started playing the game I said wow a skill for only 50g
then i bought another skill ok not that bad
I bought another skill ok the price is kinda getting up there
And then my finall moment before i paniked i bought a skill 1k i was running around trying to round up some more k

I dont think this is good enough for the new players the price goes up way to fast for skills eathier the game should have one primary amount for a skill or pay more as you level up ya every level the price of the skills go up. It would work better and help introduce skills to new players faster once they get into the game and learn more they get over in the snow areas and it cost alittle more and they can choose any skills they want and so on an so on

what do you think? and if there was a problem with people traveling to get skills for a low price i think you should cut off the skill trainers until you complete a certian part of the game or just put the good skills far in the game but eh......I wouldent like to go with the second one the first one sounds more balanced

watcha think? Will it solve or creat problems?

i allways thought 1k for each skill was too much
500 should be more then fair...
i will have to spend over 100k to unlock skills for 2 professions by pve...
or if i want to use my pve character for pvp
and we have to admit, its hard to come up with that much gold for an avarage player

Um, Hero Skill Trainers. They give you skills for basically nothing.

Hero skill trainers don't give you skills, they just unlock them for your account. You'd still have to pay 1k for your character to use them.

WRONG. They work just like a skill trainer, you just have a different type of pay.

IMO, Hero skill trainers don't even dent the problem. Unless you can get a total of 50+ hero points in semi casual play and choose any skill from your primary/secondary prof.
Both my rl friends who are casual players have 30+ skill points and not enough money to buy those skills.
Maybe someday they'll start playing a ton more to farm money for skills but I doubt it.
Basically, if you have a surplus of something and a deficit of something else and both are required for an action you have an imbalance.
Perhaps a solution would be that the cost of a skill is dependent on how many you already possess from that profession. So you'd eventually be paying 1k a skill for your primary, but may decide to switch to a different secondary and the cost of those skills would start at 50g and rise as normal.

Casual playing will get you more than enough skill points and money to unlock all skills for your primary and select skills for builds for your secondary.

They give you money, although paltry sums, for quest rewards, and now hero skill points, if you pick up all your drops and sell you will wind up with more than enough for everything you need for the game. If you want more for vanity items, you are looking at farming or more extensive play.

No they don't... you unlock it for your account. Your heros can use anything unlocked for your account. You can't use it yourself unless you bought it for yourself. So its a hero skill trainer.

If you don't have Nightfall, you have less skills to unlock!

Actually, they unlock it for your account so heroes can use it, AND for the character doing the unlocking.

Hmm. I never noticed it added the skill to my characters list. Maybe since I'm not playing the new professions yet, and only been unlocking those skills for my heros. Kinda defeats the purpose of being a "Hero" skill trainer, doesn't it?

Not true. It unlocks it for the hero and the character you unlocked it with. Skills for free basically. I still don't think 1k is much for a skill. I'm not near the richest and money never has hindered my skill buying.

Just to settle this argument about hero skill trainers:

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Hero_skill_point

And I must agree that buying skills is an expensive hobby. I've spent nearly a quarter of a million gold on skills since nightfall was released. Perhaps instead of decreasing the Gold cost, you could simply have other methods of payment. Hero Skill Points were a step in the right direction, but on average, you will only be getting 10-20 of those on a character, unless you are doing some hardcore title farming.

If you read the text on the box when you go to the hero skill trainer you will see that it clearly says that it unlocks it for your heroes and your own use.

It is an alternate way to unlock skills for your use without having to spend the 1k from a normal trainer.

It's fine.

/notsigned

Btw if Anet did reduce the cost of skills, I expect a refund of over 100k to appear in my storage.
